Ministers \u2018to be Tried for Corruption\u2019<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

The Iraqi Commission of Integrity has announced that over 2,000 people, are to face trial for corruption.<\/p>\n

According to a report from BasNews, this number includes 13 govenment ministers.<\/p>\n

At a press conference in Baghdad on Thursday, the Head of the Commission, Hassan al-Yassiri declared that in support of the Iraqi Prime Minister\u2019s reform package, they have so far investigated 2,000 cases of corruption…<\/p>\n

Seems that if they are using the dollar then we must still be supporting them financially. Iraqi Prime Minister Al Abadi still has a long way to go, but he is on the right track<\/i><\/p>\n

It is a curious twist of irony that the man who pursued the now-fugitive former Iraqi vice-president Tariq Al Hashemi may suffer a similar fate. Iraq\u2019s former premier, and former vice-president Nouri Al Maliki is currently in Iran, where some have suggested that he may never come back from as Baghdad seeks to investigate his role in the fall of Mosul to Daesh (the self-proclaimed Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) last year. The move was a milestone for the terror group that allowed it to gain much support among radicals around the globe, as well as territory in Iraq and Syria…<\/p>\n

The second was that he wanted it clear that there would be no more interference by the finance ministry in the duties of the CBI. In other words a clear separation of duties.<\/strong>\u00a0The third was that he required all his former staff to be exonerated of all crimes.\u00a0 Abadi does not like proxy positions. But in order to seat his government in time a year ago he had to use a couple proxy positions…\u00a0\u00a0I believe he is going to clean house in the finance ministry and the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) next<\/span>. Remember he was the former deputy finance minister so he knows very well what is going on in these areas. He knows the necessity of increasing the value of the currency and he knows why it has been stalled.<\/strong>\u00a0But it not all about the currency. This vote took place on Tuesday and it passed. I believe they are moving towards the \u201cofficial\u201d appointment of Ayad Allawi as head of the Federation Council and the final demise of Nori al-Maliki since he lost his immunity in this recent move.\u00a0<\/strong>ALL politicians are no longer sanctioned by immunity and will suffer the full brunt of consequences for any corruption.\u00a0Maliki and his goons had to be neutralized for any RV to happen<\/strong>. We were told this week there would be yet another set of reforms sent to parliament for a vote on Thursday.\u00a0\u00a0I believe this second set of reforms are the laws to complete the Reconciliation Reforms we have been waiting for so long. They will be presenting them to parliament again as a \u201cpackage\u201d of laws to vote on.<\/strong>\u00a0Remember we are in mid month August already, the end of 1 year term for Abadi. …Ali al-Alaq, a senior politician with Abadi\u2019s Dawa party, cited a \u201cnew reality\u201d and spirit of cooperation from Iraq\u2019s fractious political blocs.<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Abadi drafted the reform package as soon as Iraq\u2019s leading Shiite cleric, Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani, gave his support to the demonstrations, Alaq said, ramping up pressure on the government to act.<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt wasn\u2019t panic, but a realization of the urgent need to correct the political process,\u201d the legislator said. \u201cThe prime minister had always demanded reform but faced opposition from political blocs, but now that the people and the clerics are behind him, it\u2019s an opportunity to act.\u201d<\/b><\/i>Alaq acknowledged, however, that moving forward would not be easy.<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

When the CBI purchases government bonds it creates new money which increases the domestic money supply.<\/strong> The offering of domestic bonds is used as a control to decrease the domestic money supply, these are control measures used by Central Banks.
