Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jan Kubis, the United Nations stands ready to find a political solution to the crisis that is currently taking place in parliament, he said.<\/p>\n

He said in a statement after a meeting with President Fuad Masum said the political parties in Iraq must reach a political solution, and on an urgent basis, based on the Constitution and the law and the principles of democracy, which puts an end to the state of division and paralysis taking place in Parliament, paving the way rapidly to initiate and proceed forward with the necessary anti-corruption measures and reforms as well as ensuring the smooth functioning of state institutions without any pressure or intimidation noting that the United Nations stands ready to facilitate these efforts, if needed and if requested by the parties.<\/p>\n

Islandg1211 –\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>A few things caught my eye today in the articles…IMO, they were expected at this time, because I’ve felt the end of April was the most likely time for the RV based on their history.<\/span>\u00a0 Jack Lew’s co-signing of Iraq’s loans from the IMF prompted me immediately post “it’s done.” I have been expecting this time frame.<\/strong>\u00a0Today, these articles just continue to support my expectations:\u00a0 We were expecting oil prices to continue to climb a bit, and they did.\u00a0 Another step, is the continuation of the CBI checklist on their LOI (Letter of Intent) to the IMF being met. Restructuring the banks had to be done, was on the list, and has been completed.\u00a0 Lastly, I was expecting an expanded holiday this weekend with the ISX closed. I expected them to close this Thursday, and RV then.\u00a0 That has been my opinion for many months.\u00a0\u00a0Today’s article states that ISX will be closed starting Friday through early next week.\u00a0<\/strong>Let’s watch to see if the CBI follows suit.
