Mnt Goat – 1.  The current economic crisis makes it almost imperative to take action now. 2. More auditing practices are now in place in the Abadi government making it clearly more difficult to hide corruption. Most of it is now being exposed even going back to the past Maliki admin.  3. Iraq is now in a better political position where reforms are able address the corruption.   4. Grantors of foreign loans, to help Iraq through its financial crisis, would be more resistant to giving loans without the reforms on corruption since where would their loans go?  5. Investors coming to Iraq need a SAFE political and financial environment to conduct business. We all know an international dinar is coming soon.  [post 2 of 2]

Mnt Goat – I keep getting asked why is there this all out effort by Iraq and the international community to rid Iraq of corruption? Why now? Like I said it is not all about the RV of the dinar. The RV is by-product of all the efforts to stop corruption, bring more security to Iraq, fix the financial and banking systems, the necessity to go international, join the WTO etc… We only think it is all about this investment because we are investors and stand to make a huge gain when they do RV. The answer then to this question as I can conclude is many faceted:  [post 1 of 2….stay tuned]

Islandg1211 – We are watching Vietnam, Iran, and Iraq all go through the same steps outlined by the IMF…Inflation lowered, debt restructured, 2% compliment, privatize banks, new currency with security features, single national currency usage, ready to RV.  Will the reforms be delayed?   …time is up for all the corrupt politicians and terrorists in Iraq that would try to delay the reforms.  The monetary reform is a planned and wanted change by the PTB and the IMF. The IMF prefers April to RV countries.  Yes, this is My opinion…the monetary reform globally isn’t going to be delayed in Iraq or elsewhere any longer.

Mnt Goat – So the big questions we all want to know is – Can they vote on the new cabinet in time to avoid another mass demonstration…Or will they delay the process longer and we will have to wait longer for them to get the GOI fully formed?   Article quote:   “the chairman of the parliament confirmed that it would call for an emergency session Saturday or Sunday if completed the political blocs and the elves charged with studying the biographies of the candidates for the purpose of voting on the cabin ministerial “.   So it seems they still fully intend to meet the Monday 4/11 (the 10 day period) deadline to ratify the new ministers.

wmawhite – …no where is there a statement from the CBI concerning the international value/rate of the IQD being determined by the price of oil over the next to [two?] months… nowhere…whenever the CBI, GOI Parliament Finance speak about the price of the IQD…they are speaking about the street price. The IQD, as of today, does not have an exchange rate, an international exchange rate. Instead, it has an artificially imposed buy/sell value.  Here is why they speak about the price of oil affecting the price of the IQD:  …the GOI sells the oil. They receive payment from around the world in USD. The GOI then takes the USD and sells it to the CBI for IQD. The CBI turns around and sells the USD to the banks for…guess what? IQD. This is what that statement is referring to.  What we are looking for…is different…and they will not be advertising the details in advance.

Mnt Goat – As we know they only had 10 days to conclude this technocratic govt – tic toc only days away.  …these reforms should be of no surprise to anyone. Abadi it not doing them to be a nice guy. He is doing them because the UN and the USA wants a “fully seated” and “fully functional” government (as well as other mandates) prior to any RV…Folks its not all about the RV. The RV is a by-product of the process and the process is fulfilling the necessary mandates…the CBI is going to come right out and communicate it to us in the news media when the time is ready to move to article 8 (thus begin the RV process).
